Captain Dunk to Remain a Seagull

Brighton and Hove Albion’s talented captain, Lewis Dunk, finds himself the subject of the transfer window rumour mill. This will be no surprise to the Seagulls fans; their six foot four centre back is the club’s top scorer this term. It is rumoured that West Bromwich Albion are considering a £2 million bid for the 23 year old in the January transfer window. West Ham United are also reportedly keeping a close watch on the defender’s progress this season. However Brighton are not expected to part with the highly rated player as he signed a new four year contract only last summer. Dunk is central to the club's Premier League promotion aspirations.

Dunk is a local Brighton lad; he came through Albion’s Centre of Excellence and Scholarship programmes as a youth. He made his first team debut in 2010 in a 0-0 draw against MK Dons and other than a brief loan spell to Bristol City in 2013 he’s been a first team regular. He was a member of the team for Brighton’s inaugural match at the Falmer Stadium, a 2 – 1 win for the home team, against Doncaster Rovers. Dunk has also previously been selected as a member of the England under 21 squad.
